The public health officers of San Diego County had publicized a warning that some people may have been exposed from Encinitas to Carlsbad anytime between March 22 to March 30, the period that the infected individual was traveling.

The staff members from the County Epidemiology and Immunization Services Branch, Immunization Unit claim that they manage to sufficiently look into the treatment of Scripps Encinitas Hospital patients and staff at Scripps Coastal Medical Center.

Ankita Kadakia, M.D., County deputy public health officer, said, “Measles is a very contagious disease that can be spread easily by coughing, sneezing, or being in the same room with an infected person,” as fox5sandiego News reported.

“Anyone who was at any of the specific locations and at the dates and times listed above should watch for symptoms and call their health care provider if they show any signs of the disease,” Kadakia added.

It is also recommended by the health experts that, in case there is no apparent signs of symptoms, prevent visiting the doctor’s office in person.

Instead, it is better to inform the doctor by calling in order to keep the spread at bay.
