Deadly ‘Eye-Bleeding’ Virus Strikes: 90% Fatality Risk!

United States: Officials from the African CDC reported nine deaths due to an ongoing outbreak in Tanzania, which causes an eye-bleeding condition referred to as Marburg virus disease.

The number of deaths from Marburg virus disease has surpassed the eight suspected deaths reported by WHO during their earlier announcement that “more cases” would emerge.

A fresh outbreak of infectious Marburg virus disease has killed nine people in Tanzania, according to statements from Africa’s health agency.

More about the deadly infection

Ten people developed Marburg virus infections following the official announcement of the virus last week. Marburg virus behaves similarly to Ebola.

Experts have warned about this virus that scientists call disease X, and it leads to fatal outcomes in nine out of ten victims.

The Kagera region of Tanzania serves as the location where ten cases were identified among its three million residents, timesnownews.com reported.

What more are the experts stating?

According to Ngashi Ngongo from the Africa Centre for Disease Control Centre (CDC), “We are doing everything we can with WHO and all the partners,” and the infection figures showed “the very high case fatality of Marburg.”

A team of medical experts from different nations has already managed to quell an infection outbreak that emerged in an adjacent country, according to Ngongo.

According to WHO, the global threat from Tanzania’s present outbreak posed minimal dangers.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus states that stopping outbreaks can happen rapidly despite the absence of treatment and vaccines.

Medical experts at WHO identified Marburg as a high-risk pandemic pathogen affecting primarily healthcare-limited regions.

The medical community states that Marburg virus disease produces severe outbreaks throughout various African geographic regions.

Symptoms of the disease

Symptoms initially present as influenza symptoms but advance into critical conditions, including intense vomiting along with bleeding throughout the body and neurological difficulties.

The initial human transmission happens through bat or primate infections, which then spread to human populations. The virus moves between human bodies to generate outbreaks after its initial transmission from primates or bats to people, timesnownews.com reported.

Health professionals identify Marburg as a type of virus that results in viral hemorrhagic fever, which harms blood vessels and creates bleeding effects.

The symptoms are said to be:

  1. Chills
  2. Severe headaches
  3. Cough
  4. Muscle and joint pain
  5. Sore throat
  6. Rashes
  7. Abdominal and chest pain
  8. Vomiting and nausea
  9. Diarrhea
  10. Dizziness
  11. Unintended weight loss
  12. Bloody poop
  13. Bleeding from your nose, mouth, eyes or vagina
  14. Confusion and derilium
